Where are you based?

We operate from a home-based studio in Emersons Green in Bristol - BS16 7DF

 

What days are you open?

Bookings are available Monday-Sunday - all year round!

 

​Is street parking available?

There is plenty of free street parking available outside the studio.

​

Is your studio wheelchair accessible?

The studio is located at the top of a flight of stairs and unfortunately is inaccessible to wheelchair users - Please contact us should you require additional assistance.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

We certainly do! Gift vouchers can be purchased to any value through our online gift shop or via email -themakeupstudiobysophie@gmail.com

Can I choose my colours/ style of makeup?

Yes of course! Feel free to bring any photos/ inspo you may have to your appointment.

When should I book my makeup appointment?

Due to high demand, Saturday appointments are limited, so we recommend booking early to secure your appointment in the hot-seat! Prom and Christmas appointments also experience high demand. If your desired date is unavailable, we are more than happy to add you to our cancellation list and contact you if any openings arise.

How far in advance do you take bookings?

Standard bookings: 6 months ahead

Prom: 1 year ahead

Bridal: 2 years ahead

Makeup lessons: 6 months ahead

How do I pay the deposit to secure my booking?

Deposits are requested via bank transfer and come off the final balance. All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. We will hold your provisional date for 24 hours (or 48 hours for 1-2-1 lessons and bridal), if no deposit has been received after this time, your appointment slot may be released.

What happens if you cancel my appointment?

In the extremely rare occasion Sophie has to cancel, you will be given the option to transfer the deposit to another date of your choice, or receive a full deposit refund by bank transfer. 

​

When do I pay my final balance?

The final balance is to be paid on the day of your appointment by bank transfer or cash. The remaining balance for Bridal is due 4 weeks prior to the wedding date as noted in the bride's wedding contract.

What If I have an allergy to a product/ sensitive skin?

On arrival, you will be asked to complete a client record card, please make note on the card your skin type and any known allergies. The card will be checked prior to makeup application and alternative products can be used if necessary. If you were to have an instant reaction to a product during the appointment, Sophie will remove the product immediately, leave to settle and review.

What days do you offer makeup lessons?

Lessons are held Monday - Friday and Sundays - Please see 1-2-1 Lessons for full details.

Do you offer a mobile service?

We offer a mobile service for bridal bookings and photoshoots only - this includes international travel too!

​

Do you offer a hair service?

We currently don't offer a hair service, however we can recommend some top-notch hair stylists!
